If only she hadn’t entered that souped-up semi full of advanced alien technology. Never mind that. If only she hadn’t driven to Minneapolis in the first place and had instead remained in Sauk Centre to watch Tate’s wrestling tournament. Yes. Lots of regrets. But no point in rehashing any of them now.
She was told to forget most of her past, her personality, and behave in a certain manner, or else face the horrifying consequences - her family would be tortured and murdered.
She would never allow them to experience any harm. She would do whatever she could to protect her family. And besides, living the life of someone rich and famous has its benefits, distractions. But even more importantly, it would be beyond reason for anyone to save her now…might as well obliterate such a dream completely...
